Talawa Theatre Company
Talawa was created in direct response to Yvonne Brewster's recognition of the lack of creative opportunities for actors from minority ethnic backgrounds and the general marginalisation of Black peoples from cultural processes that was prevalent at the time of the Company's inception.
Since 1986, Talawa has grown to become one of the most successful Black theatre companies in the UK.

Amy O'Neill
Amy trained as an actor and spent nine years in thebusiness as a performer appearing in the West Ends Blood Brothers for three years before working in casting. She has assisted Marilyn Johnson casting for feature films, the BBC, Almeida theatre, Upstairs at the Gatehouse and the Ambassadors Theatre Group. She has worked as a Casting Director for Giddy Ox Productions and The Adelphi. Amy is currently assisting Kate and Lou with their commercial castings, as a Casting Director at The Arcola Theatre as well as Working par4 time as an agent assistant at Jonathan Arun Associates. Amy has also cast for Writer’s Avenue. She is now currently working as an agent.
Annie Rowe
Annie Rowe is an emerging freelance casting director with a passion for promoting and championing actors via groundbreaking new writing. She trained as an actress at The National Youth Theatre and RADA before becoming a freelance casting assistant in 2007.
In 2009, alongside assisting, Annie started casting independently and is very proud to be part of the casting team for Theatre503. She has worked for, amongst others, the following: Theatre 503. The Bush Theatre, The Casting Collective, BDA and regularly casts for Writer’s Avenue

Bola Agbaje
Bola was also nominated for the Evening Standard Most Promising Playwright of the Year in 2008. Bola's writing has been presented by the Royal Court Theatre, ATC, Tiata Fahodzi, Hampstead Theatre, Soho Theatre, Young Vic and Talawa to name a few. Bola is the writer in residence for Paines Plough and is under commission for the Royal Court Theatre, Tiata Fahodzi and Paines Plough. She is also developing GONE TOO FAR! into a screenplay with Poission Rouge Pictures and the UK Film Council.
David Lazenby of Richard Stone Partnership and Vivienne Clore
David started his career with Sadie Feast Management before joining Conway Van Gelder Grant under the watchful and supportive eye of John Grant. After a very rewarding and happy time with them, he decided to branch into other avenues of the entertainment industry and was offered the opportunity to work for Vivienne.
Jennifer Farmer
Jennifer is a playwright and writing workshop facilitator. Her credits include THESE FOUR STREETS Birmingham Rep and Midlands tour , STUTTER Menagerie Theatre, Hotbed , BULLETPROOF SOUL Birmingham Rep and Midlands tour, Words Words Words and Tricycle Theatre, COMPACT FAILURE (2004): National tour and Arcola Theatre and 270° Paines Plough’s Wild Lunch; Young Vic.
She has worked as a character consultant for CASUALTY (BBC) and has facilitated workshops for organisations including Soho Theatre, Almeida Theatre, New Writing South, Birmingham Rep and Theatre Royal Stratford East.
Nicholas McInerny
Nicholas has over 75 credits in stage, radio, TV and film. Plays produced include SHAKER ( The ICA and Edinburgh/Dublin Festival), BELLE FONTAINE (Soho Theatre), THE GIFT (The Orange Tree, Richmond), and RED PRINCESS (National Tour). He has written over 35 episodes of popular TV, including a long stint as core writer for THE BILL (1987-2010) for which he was one of the winners of The Writers Guild Award.
He has written over 30 radio plays for the BBC, as well as two screenplays – BLACK BADGE (BBC Scotland) and THE HOUR BEFORE DAWN (Paramount). He has also written a number of Series Bibles, and just finished a co-write on a screenplay – UNLIMITED – for Chad Gunderson Entertainment.
He is also busy planning his fourth pilgrimage to the Burning Man Festival this year – the inspiration for several essays he was written onImmersive Theatre. LAZYeye is his latest play he is developing with Lonya www.lonlya.com
Phillip Gawthorne
Philip Gawthorne is a writer for film, television and stage, who was recently listed by Broadcast magazine as one the top ten writers in the UK under the age of thirty.
His stage plays have been performed internationally, including at David Mamet's Atlantic Theatre Studios, The Sanford Meisner Theatre and Manhattan Theatre Source in New York and The Old Vic, Royal Court and Soho Theatre in London.
He has recently been developing new work through the Old Vic New voices programme and was invited to participate in a David Mamet workshop there, which was run by Kevin Spacey.
Philip has written for Eastenders, Doctors and Casualty to name a few of his TV credits.
Samuel Julyan
Samuel is a freelance Producer and Casting Director based in London. Currently working as a Casting Assistant for Bill Kenwright Ltd, working on touring shows ( UK and European) as well as West End. As a producer, recent credits include: The Cock Tavern Theatre's Edward Bond Season, and Harold Rome's Pins and Needles. He has a degree in Drama and Theatre Arts from Goldsmiths College, University of London. Samuel has worked with companies such as Bill Kenwright Ltd, Good Night Out Presents, OperaUpClose Pact Imagination Theatre, Trestle Touring Theatre, RealDeal Theatre, and Above The Stag Theatre.

Sarah Hughes
Sarah Hughes was Alan Ayckbourn’s casting director for seventeen years before his retirement in 2009, casting world premieres of his plays at the Stephen Joseph Theatre Scarborough, in the West End, at the National Theatre and on Broadway, as well as all other productions at the Stephen Joseph Theatre. She continues the relationship with Alan and the SJT on a freelance basis. For the last ten years, she has also been a freelance casting director in the Entertainment Department of the BBC. In 2009/2010 she ran the BBC Talent Alert, looking for new Disabled talent all over the UK (and reconnecting with existing actors with disabilities) in order to encourage on-screen representation of disabled actors. So far 2011 she has been working on LEARNING TO WALK AGAIN for BBC2, Alan Ayckbourn's two new plays, DEAR UNCLE and NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH for the Stephen Joseph Theatre, and Abi Morgan's LOVE SONG for Frantic Assembly.
