The Next Stage
The best plays from The First 20 Minutes, as voted by the audience, are shortlisted for The Next Stage; rehearsed reading of their full length play.
Each shortlisted writer will receive feedback on up to three drafts of their full play, they also receive a free face to face consultation with the Literary Manager and Artistic Director to help them make rewrites. Based on the final drafts up to four writers are confirmed for The Next Stage.
The plays are shown as a script in hand performance, with lighting, costume, sound and minimal set and props. The audience fill in feedback forms which go back to the writers. The writers will then have the opportunity to discuss their play further the company should they wish to make any rewrites before their play is presented in The Final Stage.
